Our family has resolved to kick 2016 to the curb and press on to what lies ahead. 2016 was a year full of leaning hard into our Savior and for that we will always be thankful and raise our Ebeneezer.
Over the past few months our eyes have been opened to the vastness of the kingdom of God in ways that we haven’t seen for a long time. We have seen an intentional spiritual growth occur in our family and we have experienced the enemy trying to thwart that growth. The joy in the intentionality is that we fight against those attacks, sometimes together and sometimes individually, but always to seek the Lord.
The great thing about a family focused on growing spiritually is that the whole family becomes instinctively aware of God’s leading. When a family determines to not let anything define it but a desperate desire to follow where God is leading, impossible dreams suddenly seem likely. Even dreams that you didn’t know you had.
2017 promises to be a big year for our tribe. It will be full of change, full of anticipation, full challenge, and full of beauty.
Wherever God leads and whatever he does we want to follow.
Robyn and I recently had a discussion about the Kingdom of God. She was talking about the discovery that the Kingdom is present at all times for everyone. It is present today just as it was yesterday, last week, last month, and a hundred years ago. It is also present tomorrow, next week, next year, and in ten years. It is simply present.
Whatever the New Year holds, our prayer is that our family will live every moment fully aware of the presence of the Kingdom of God. That’s our prayer for you as well.
May 2017 be the year we look back on as the time when we stepped fully into God’s will, but may that be the only reason we look back. May we be fully aware of the Kingdom. May this be the year we finally step beyond our own ability into the deep waters of the unknown without looking back.
Look Different. Be Different. Make a Difference.
